Q: Give us one example of when you were proud to be an Adventist. Or, when you knew that youyou were a part of the seventh-day adventist church family
Kevin, 15, Koror, Palau: Being an Adventist has broadened my experience with God, allowing me to grow in slow but steady faith and has given me the assurance that I am not forsaken in a world full of constant turmoil and despair. I've been having a lot of family problems and disputes, but in all this darkness, I'm proud to be an Adventist, so that I may not continue to fall but to step out and experience the light with Jesus Christ my Lord and to share that Light with my family.
Al Jay, 18, Davao, Philippines: Last week we had an alternative classroom discussion on religion and everybody was so interested with what I was saying because of the ways in which I was able to explain Biblical truths since we had already talked about them in church.
Ranah Jane, 23, Baesa, Caloocan City. Philippines: I felt proud to be a part of the Seventh-day Adventist family when I attended and participated in the so called "Mega Praise and Worship" program of our local conference (Central Luzon Conference) which was attended by many young people in the whole conference. It was nice to think that I’m so blessed because I'm one of them.
Sakina, 23, Pakistan: Well, now I don’t feel at all proud to be Adventist. All I see is less compassionate pastors, management who think they can get away with everything and very few are good people are left. Often members of other churches refer Adventists as not so good people. If members of the community tries to offer some new ideas nothing happens, even if pastor is willing to make some changes they are received by cold shoulder treatment. Church attendance is getting low and no social work, humanitarian work, Religious workshops, seminar or bible study I have seen in two years time. It seems people are forgetting Adventist as other churches are fulfilling the spiritual growth. I would every much like to see Adventist see grow like a any other church in Pakistan.
Ludwige, 23, Florida, United States: Every Sabbath, I am going to church and fell that peace, joy and sense of belonging to the Church of Christ.
Debbie, 14, Colorado: I have felt like an Adventist when I went to this new church by my house and when we went for the first time, the people there made me and my family feel like we were a part of the church. They welcomed us in and invited us to potluck. I felt happy to be part of this church and know that Seventh Day Adventist can be really nice people that care a lot about each other.
Lavern, 15: I was I class one time and a teacher was making a reference to something an she said” have you ever seen those Adventist when they go out to visit they’re always well prepared" and she was like "why can’t all of us be like that”? I said "well first Miss you need to have the love of God in your heart and be prepared n joyful to his work." She said "are you an Adventist?" And, I said "yes I am" its jus pleasing to know that people can look at us and see what Gods work should be like.
Peter, 19, Lagos State, Nigeria: The way the church is being led in this part of the world [ Nigeria] I mean is just too poor. Living in a world where we are not there at all. We are fortunate to get the Adventist World column and through it we can see the great exploits of others but ours here is totally different.
The media is one thing I believe through which we can carry the message to the world but here in Nigeria we are not there at all. Our youth are loosing focus because they cannot just remain in a denomination where people don’t know and call the church[cult]cause we seem to appear to people as being too secretive of which I do not buy the idea at all.
I/We will like the president to look into this before the youths are being misled by the evil of our present world of deception today. THANKS.

Andrew, 18, Malawi: When Adventists musicians from Blantyre came to perform at our college campus and people from other denominations were really amazed and inspired by the Adventist music, Oh I felt really good to know that I belong to such an awesome ministry

Beantae, 17, Spanish Town, St. Catherine, Jamaica: Last week. When a pastor from the Western Conference of the island, spoke out about crime and violence. It disturbed him greatly. He stated that the government should make it mandatory for young boys to join the army. Now people will see that we can contribute ideas to make our country ( Jamaica) better. The media was appreciative of the idea and now wants the government to take it into consideration. Even though, this was not the first the Adventist pastors speak out. I felt proud because at least our voices are being heard.

Rica, 23, Koror, Palau: I am proud to be an Adventist because I am different from others. During social gatherings, when others drink, I don’t. When they smoke, I don’t. When they say bad words, I don’t. And that, I should say, makes me different from the rest of the youth in the world. While they're enjoying the worldly pleasures in this world, I know I need not to. Because there is a place where I will enjoy things permanently—heaven. And having that belief and faith makes me different and it makes God happy.

And especially when I tell to someone that Adventism is a community of a person around the world. We can get connected with an Adventist all around the world, there is no difference inside the Seventh - day Adventist church.
Selina: I remember I met a guy on the bus and I held his bag for him while he was standing so when the person beside me got out, he sat next to me. We began to speak generally and he asked me if i was a Christian and I said 'yes'.
He asked me what faith, I told him I am a Seventh - day Adventist and he began to say even though he smokes marijuana he believes in the Adventist teachings and has the most respect for them. He believes the Sabbath is the true day of worship and he went on to say that we are the only faith that keep the entire day holy, unlike Sunday worshippers who also drink, some smoke too and party and then preach you are not to drink, party or smoke...
I felt good that I didn’t say more than the words 7th Day Adventist and that man preached an entire sermon... God be praised!!!
